A phone system creates internal extensions for the office, routes calls and switches on an auto-attendant after working hours. An IP PBX does this over the computer network and brings branches together into one numbering plan. Its size is set by the number of simultaneous calls and users. A VoIP gateway connects old analogue lines and handsets to the new system: an FXO port is for the city line, FXS for an ordinary telephone.
