Two numbers decide which mount to choose. The first is the VESA hole spacing on the back of the screen (100×100, 200×200 and so on), the second is the maximum load. Both are in the screen's manual and both must match – running at the weight limit means sagging over time. A desk mount frees up space and adjusts the height, while a wall mount is sturdier but fixes the screen in one position for good. A gas-spring arm only moves smoothly if the screen's weight sits in the middle of its range.
