Battery cabinets and UPS accessories

Buying guide

An external battery cabinet extends runtime. You need one when the UPS's own battery no longer lasts long enough. The cabinet must match the specific UPS series: voltage and connection type are set by the manufacturer, and there's no universal solution here. Allow for weight and space – a battery pack is heavy and must stand on a solid, ventilated surface. Charging time grows too: the more capacity, the longer the UPS takes to fully recover after an outage. Of the UPS accessories, a network management card and rack-mounting rails are the ones most often useful.
