A teapot is for brewing tea: in a glass one you can watch the leaves unfurl, and a strainer keeps leaves out of your cup. A stovetop kettle whistles to tell you the water has boiled. In a French press, coffee steeps in hot water, while a moka pot brews it on the hob; a jug is for water and compote. A milk jug and sugar bowl complete the table and make a matching tea set.
