Washing machines and dishwashers

Buying guide

Washing machine capacity is given in kilograms: six kilograms is enough for one or two people, while a family is better off with eight or more. A slim model fits a small bathroom, and an inverter motor runs more quietly and uses less electricity. Dishwashers are chosen by the number of place settings, and they come 45 or 60 centimetres wide, so leave a recess of that size in your kitchen units. Check the water and drain connections before installation.
