Vacuum cleaners

Buying guide

Which vacuum cleaner suits you depends on your home: bagged models are more hygienic, bagless ones spare you buying bags, and cordless ones are handy for quick clean-ups. Judge suction by the real result rather than by watts – what counts is whether the brush actually lifts hair and dust from the carpet. On cordless models, battery life at maximum power is often far shorter than the spec sheet says.
