A graphics card has three constraints, and all three need checking before you buy: it has to fit the length of your case, your power supply needs the right connector and enough headroom, and the motherboard needs a free PCIe slot. Memory size goes hand in hand with resolution – less is enough for Full HD, more is needed for 4K. For gaming, match the card to your monitor: a 144 Hz screen is pointless if the card can't deliver that many frames. Two- and three-fan models run quieter on the same chip.
