Type-C cables and adapters

Buying guide

Type-C connectors all have the same shape, but not the same capabilities. The same plug may carry only charging, or data as well, or video too. So choose a cable by three parameters: how many watts it carries (60 W and above for a laptop), how fast it transfers data, and whether it supports video. Length matters too – the longer the cable, the harder it is to keep high speeds. If your device supports fast charging, the cable must meet the same standard, or the chain will break at its weakest link.
